EDUCATION

'76 - '80: The Art Academy Rotterdam, The Netherlands
An intense five-year study program comprising two years of sculpture, painting, drawing and printing, covering all techniques, art history, typography, ceramics, film, and three years of guided in-studio specialization. Specialized in graphic arts and oil painting. Successfully completed.

'91- '96: Applied Computer Systems Technologist (A.C.S.T.) degree at Langara College in Vancouver
Award winning career program which provides broad knowledge about computer graphics, hardware architecture, digital logic, operating systems, structured programming languages, object oriented programming (C++) and common business applications as well as two four month work terms. Successfully completed.

2010, July 9, the old Storyeum building, “Acquired Taste Event”, an event to raise money for our HIV/AIDS support/education programs in downtown Vancouver. YouthCO is Canada’s first youth-driven organization leading the HIV and HepC movement through peer education, support, and shared leadership.

The painting "Dreamings 2" was selected by the New York Academy of Sciences to be used for the cover design of one of their scientific publications, to be published in May.

Art auction to raise funds for wellness programs in the healing environment of the Diamond Centre For Living, a centre that provides programs and services, free of charge, to more than 1,300 members who are living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

2006, Oct 14, Vancouver, "Shimmer - Splash 2006" at Performance Works, Granville Island
This annual fundraising event helps provide high quality arts education to more than 36,000 young people each year through classes on Granville Island, in-school performances and outreach programs offered free-of-charge to school children.

The painting "Paddle Song" was selected by the New York Academy of Sciences to be used for the cover design of one of their scientific publications, published in June.

2004, May - November, Vancouver, Orcas in the City,
"Grooves," public art project. In partnership with sponsor MacDonald Realtors Lorne Goldman Ltd., a unique design was created and applied to the surface of a life size custom formed fibreglass orca calf. After being on display in the downtown area during the summer months, it was auctioned off online and placed in front of a shopping mall at 224 West Esplanade in North Vancouver in September 2005. Proceeds went to the BC Lions Society's Easter Seal Operations and the Canucks for Kids' Fund.
